A little sewing...

It was good to get to sew ... If you follow my Instagram you got a sneak peek to some things I'm doing..If not.. then well here you go.. lol I mentioned about a tutorial .. I have the product finished.. just need to get it wrote up..Its coming I promise!!! But this is what it will be...
Do you have a lot of these little buggers? on your key rings? I think I found like 5 from stores not even open anymore lol . I got so tired of going through these looking for the one I need...I want it like NOW not have to go through all of them...

I came up with this cutey..

Its a wallet .. to hold all those little buggers and the bigger full size cards as well...

Here is the open view..it has a "page " with clear pockets to put the little cards inside..

the bigger pockets are behind .. or you can put cash inside it.

All neat and tidy.. I do not like working with vinyl but its only 2 strips and it worked well for me this time..I use  a lot of these cards . Maybe most people don't so I don't know... lol 

Also...

I made a stack of pot holders today.. A friend asked for some and I just went crazy cutting out some 9 x 9 squares from older fabrics.. and I had like 5 yards of the Insul-Bright batting to use for these..( Joanns had a mega sale one day..)

I put a few labels on them. not all .I didn't do anything fancy with them.. I did sew the edges twice around.. These will go to a good home =0)

So did everyone get a lot of goodies this past weekend from all the yummy Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales??? I bought myself my own Christmas, as me and Doug usually does, its easier that way and we get what we want! We end up getting stocking stuffers for each other too.

I got a few pictures to post and not sure where to start....

hmmmm....I'll start with a package from Sasha . She has been busy busy whipping (and knitting) out these adorable mitts! This is the second pair she made for me. The first pair was a surprise! But when my daughter in law saw them she wanted some so Sasha was kind to make her a pair too! The yarn is a borrowed item. Its going to be dolly hair for Zoeys dolly.. and I've made progress! (more pictures on that below!)

 These little magnets are soo cute and she made them in some of my favorite fabric!  She knew I love orange too!

 Ok here is the dolly.. I have yet to name her.. I want to let Zoey do that I guess. I'm thought of UMM.. as from Alice in Wonderland movie, and Zoey is always saying it.She went into the bathroom (off limits) and I said what are you doing in there??? Umm. lol I think my water bill will be higher this month too. She loves to flush.. what is it with toddlers and that???

The dolly has new jammies!!! I'm making a pair to match for Zoey too = ) I will work on her hair this week! (thanks Sasha for not letting my little dolly be bald!)

My next item on the board..I feel like a auctioneer.....

My mom gave me a little travel neck pillow a few years ago and I have used it alot! (but it's never in the car! hehe)
I took a pattern off of it and voila! I made jelly beans!!! No,, those are pillows!!! They do look like jelly beans???
I just used some flannel I had handy. I notice I have alot of fabric with cats, but no dogs.. hmmmm
I made 3 of them last night then I let Zoey stuff a couple today.

 I couldn't get a good picture of her doing that, she kept wanting to grab the camera before I could take it.. I was holding the pillow open here for her. She loves the stuffing out of pillows btw.. That brown pillow below is open at both ends.. she will pull hand ful's out and hold it while sucking her thumb.. it is sortof cute = ) but she leaves a trail of "fuzzies" When I pulled that big bag of stuffing out her eyes went LARGE. But she was a good helper and stuffed the pillows , then pulled it back out...sigh. OH see the pink pillow on the floor.. thats the one my mom made me lol...

 Ok moving on....
I get alot of orders from one certain customer for football items.. Here is a pair of flannel Colts jammie pants..and a little pair of Packers for her grand daughter..so cute!
But she tells me she wants Steelers now as they could go to Superbowl.. I think she needs to decide who she is rooting for .......(just kidding Donitta!)
You can't tell on the pants there are pockets and she wanted the drawstring instead of elastic..

You tired yet??? sorry I'm ALMOST done! If I don't post these tonight I will forget them.

I made a sample wallet up for ...oops almost said! for a gift.. I wanted the checkbook and/or a small notebook to insert sideways down instead of the traditional way. and a lot of room for cards, or receipts and a pen !

I made another one but.. hmm we won't go there. I put a elastic and button closure on it and I just can't deal with those or is it just me?? So instead I put a velcro closure. Like much better! I sort of did it in a rush and didn't match up the threads very well ..yes I'm a myself criticizer .. the worse kind. But I do like this and hopefully get another one done for a gift. 

(note. I always use my older fabric for samples. and have tons of the brown paisleys as I love too!) I can't wait to do this in the fabric I picked out!

I made little old  ole' me something!
I took scrap of paper (tons of it ) and stamped me up some little note and thank you notes! I bought the Just a little note stamp at Joanns awhile ago, and the flowers I received from swaps or bought somewhere , maybe Targets?? (love those dollar bins!!! ) and the bottom stamp with my name on it I got free from Vista prints.. I love that site! you can alot of free stuff there! They get my business .......a....... lot.

Well I'm done! I actually went back to see if I did have more to add..But I'm tired of typing lol
And what have you all been up to lately??? I'm slowly and at a good rate I must say checking off my gift list!
I'm actually going to get out and shop in the real stores tomorrow! I stayed in all weekend and I think its safe to venture out and not get shot or pepper sprayed! OH and there is a great deal on Connecting Threads. Thread for 40% off all December! I grabbed me a couple of sets!!!

Another wallet finished!

I had this custom ordered and I like it! And!!! I finally got my binding right! yay!
I did use the seam REAPER a couple of times but not so much cursing this time.. hehe

I have one more to make for another order with a purse.. I can't wait to do these as it will be done in digi camouflage !!! I just hope Joann has it tomorrow when I run up there...I haven't seen it around too much..

I cut out four notebook covers tonight. Will try to get a little assembly line going in my sewing room tomorrow. They will be going in Etsy.. unless my DIL-to be, Liz grabs those too! hehe

Remember the Ottlite I won?? They contacted me for mailing info and should be receiving that in a couple of weeks. Super excited about that!

Speaking of giveaways... As I mentioned before I wanted to do something for my 1 year blog birthday.. Next Friday (not this coming but NEXT one ) a week from this Friday..K? lol.....I'll be posting my next give away!! I haven't made up the item yet but its in the works and will be finished I promise by the 28th!

(there was one surprise I got last week I DID NOT LIKE! my electric bill did not go down as I thought it should of since we were not running a A/C or heater! what is the deal with that Mr. Remc??? Grr.)

Recently I was reading a blog ( what? me? ) and came up with a idea.. They seem to rattle alot around in my head.. but anyways.. I love to read!!! I have 3 different books going this week! I usually don't do that because I like to be focused on one at a time. But my local library got the set of books in that I've been wanting forever and they gave me all three at once.. THEN another book came in that I was on the list for.. yikes! So reading is  going on big time in this house.
Oh , my idea was to list some books I'm reading.. and I thought it would be fun if you would let me know what you are reading right now! or just finished or want to read!!! I keep a little notebook with me to mark books down I want to pick up if I'm near a used book store.. So give me some good ones!
I like drama, mystery, crime,(darker the better) and funny biography's.
Here is my list this week
-Catching Fire by  Suzanne Collins (book 2 of 3 from The Hunger Games series)
-Smokin' Seventeen by Janet Evanovich.. ( totally funny books!)
-Sign of the Cross by Chris Kuzneski (darker detective sort of ) this is book 2. its a series too, I think there is like 8 or so out??
-Blood Ties by Jennifer Lash (I'm not sure about this one, I picked it up at a Goodwill last week.)
-I second that Emotion by Patsy Clairmont (my sister gave me this one and started it but not went back yet, its on the list!)

Recipes!!!

Well.. not the eating sorts,  but you will get the picture...and if you get bored of the babbling ...skip on down to the sewing parts! 

I try to save as much money as I can , I use TONS of coupons and try to shop local (season permitting) .And I'm trying to be more planet earth friendly and took up recycling in the last couple of years.. Sometimes its a hassle but I keep thinking of all that garbage that goes into our earth and think eww. And not to mention the animals it affects in the oceans! I try to buy things that don't have alot of bad icky chemicals but some things listed here is more on the frugal side then being green.. I'm not a expert in this stuff but I use what is best for moi. = )

A list of things I do for the better of the environment..and me.

1. I take reusable bags to shop.. I have bought them yes, but now I make them as you all should know by now!! lol
2. I recycle as much as I can. I even throw my food garbage outside for the critters,, that I am not happy about this year eating my best tomatoes!! But I had more then enough tomatoes this year,, so all is ok I guess..
3. I have made my own re usable clothe napkins.. I used tutorial from HERE for Unpaper Towels as she calls them.. I love them too, but need to make more.. and Doug said to make them man friendly as BIGGER for his bigger mouth   hands. She has alot of other great things you need to look at. Snack bags, produce bags..etc.. I love her blog. Actually she was almost the first blog I started following if I remember right...almost but not lol.
4. LAUNDRY SOAP!!! this is my favorite part!! I love making my own laundry soap!! It makes the whole house smell so good and fresh! I was making the gelled type where you have to boil water and la la la and put it in a big 5 gallon bucket.. The other night I ran out and was lazy to wait for it to set over night to use.. so I went searching on Pinterest.. my favorite place now!! I found a recipe for the dry method.. Easy peasy and still smells good, because you have to grate the bar soap.. (my wrist still hurts! lol ) I went HERE for that.. I made the smaller batch as I wasn't about to grate 4 bars of soap!! Read her whole page about this.. I could tell you all about it but its easier just to go there lol,, did I mention I'm a lazy blogger?
5. I haven't made this yet but will in the next couple of days!! Home made hair tangler!! HERE is something I really need but not for me.. My grand daughter, Zoey has the wildest hair I have ever saw on a baby! ITS BEAUTIFUL but gets so tangle-ly while wet.. Just use Suave conditioner and water , mix it and as Zoey say's ........DA-TAH!!! I got some coconut scented and can't wait to try that.
6. Also HERE is a home made fabric softener, I've not tried it yet. and its use's Suave again.. I have bought regular liquid softener and poured into a container with cut up old socks of mine and then shake it or toss it around and use the one or two strips of the socks after soaked in that in the dryer. I've used each piece a few times. So you get a lot of mileage out each piece. 
7. Hmm what else..

9. I shop Goodwill. You can find some vintage bowls and stuff there!!!

But all in all I just wanted to share with you some things I use around the house and if you got anything you use to pass on let me know! I'm always looking to try new things.

 Plenty room for all the business cards and endless supply of credit cards!!! I have a debit/credit card. I hate credit cards!!

I bought this pattern from this  Etsy store.. It's a super easy pattern to follow. I really love it.. so probably will make more! and........I can sell them..yay! It's called the OOO RAH wallet as her son is a Marine and she named it and carries in honor of him..I LOVE THAT! (check her store out and look at her versions..they are great!)This wallet is for sale.. but I think its sold already ,still waiting for answer = )

I need to make me one next! I never make myself anything lol

Ok one last thing .. I made some cute little training pants.. (did I post this before??) deja vu..hmmm

My niece was wanting some training pants for her little girl, and I am making some for my grand daughter as well.. I gave these to Zoey as she saw them and loved them. I made them from a couple of t shirts !!! Oh thats being green again!! lol (add that to my list)

I also managed to get another Go anywhere bag using Noodlehead pattern cut out tonight. If Zoey takes a nap when I have her Monday I'll get that sewn up...hehe.
