June Lovely Year Of Finishes !!!!

Oh LOOKY! I'm actually going to enter this month's LYOF!!!! YAY!!!

I had my wallet pattern/ tutorial on my desk forever and been working on it last month so this is a good project for me to FINISH!!!
Since I posted the sample pictures last post, I made a lot of changes!! I can't wait to make one!!

Here are some of the fabric choices lined up for my final wallet.
Oh .. I noticed the brown I took out already! HA!! I switched it to some pink..
You know I need a name for this wallet.....

Have a good week!

I need help.

You remember my loyalty card wallet I promised a tutorial on??

Well the first was trashed.. I didn't like the clear vinyl I used for the pockets and I had a mess in my purse one day with all of them falling out! LOL
I thought ok to the drawing board again..

When I begin something it bugs me until I get it right.. and I think I have it now, by George!
( where did that saying come from?)

I used some old fabric for my practice.. its actually not that bad and its Red White and Blue!!!

I like the feel of this wallet.. As I like books and it reminds me of my little Pocket Holborn Filofax I carry =)))
size wise I mean..

Don't look of the fabrics just the design LOL

Opened up first page.. I put a long deep pocket for coupons on inside front..or receipts too.
on next flap are 4 card slots.

Next page with it opened flat.. 4 more card slots on left and on right are 12 card slots for those little key ring loyalty cards. I use them more then the bigger cards..

opened next page is 4 MORE card slots and a back pocket on back flap. I have a checkbook inside.
I figured I could fold some cash bills inside one of the card slots or deeper pocket.

With it closed I noticed with all the cards inside it doesn't line up even.
I am going to add a little bit more to each side of the pattern. then leave the card page the same size.
I didn't use interfacing at all , didn't want to waste it.. I will use medium weight for the outer fabric only. It feels good without interfacing on the card slots. that way it won't bulk it up.

Ok my help question.. I want a flap closure.. or do I?? What kind? or leave it without???
The cards are tight enough that they wont fall out.. again lol
Any suggestions to add anything??
This is actually fast and easy project! Only thing that took time were the card slot pockets to sew each down.
I have some ideas for the fronts!

Hey I added a few things to my Etsy shop! go check them out !!
www.appleheadthreads.etsy.com

pst my birthday is tomorrow..My hubby is going to give me money.. he doesn't know that yet, but anywho.. I will have to show you later what goodies I have in mind to buy!!!!
I was going to do something fun on here but maybe you can just wish me a happy one! LOL

Six wallets finished!

These are now for sale in my Etsy.. !!!!
                                          Got a favorite team???

                                         Or something cute or manly??

phewww I got these done fast! lol

These wallets are my own pattern. I always hated on a hand made wallet how you fold it flat and it all bulky and wonky.. I added 3 rows of stitches on the spine of the wallet.. And I double stitched around the whole thing to give it a bit of a professional look = D

One day I want to make a PDF pattern of this and ..cough cough.. sell the pattern.. But we will see lol
They are really easy to make and the card slots as you can see are a bit deeper then others. The cards won't peek up above , as I had trouble with them falling out.. so now they stay snug inside the pockets.
I tried to make a clear I.D. pocket on the bottom but it did not work out well and after I sewed them all up I had a brain fart.. just sew it down ON TOP of the finished card pockets, instead of as a pocket themselves.. get me? I will try it next time.

I made a Ipad / notebook case from Michelle's patterns , but still need to attach the buttons.. I LOVE all her patterns!!! I have several of them!

On my list to do in the near future is a Reversible Lunchtime Pouch by Projectsbyjane . I just bought this pattern and its on sale right now along with her other PDF patterns!  I own all but 2 of her patterns.. lol
Not sure how long her sale will be, so snap to it!
When I look at this bag I think Lego's for some reason!!! SOOOO I might have a idea for a little boy gift this year!!!

I think today I'm being so nice and advertising my favorite crafty people!!! Sasha over on Stitchedbysasha has added LOT of pretty things to her Etsy shop recently!!! Lots of nice eye candy over there! If you are knitter she sells knitting / project bags.. or they can be used for just about everything!

It must be the holiday season coming because I'm on a crack down to sew..My goal is to get every gift I'm making finished by the end of NOVEMBER!!!  I want to relax in December .................and make cookies and candy!!! hehehe

You know me, I can not post anything without a mention of my Z-bug, Zoey.  I like to think of this as a little journal for her to read someday years to come.. and laugh at herself..
But, me and Zoey was in the Dollar Store a few days ago.. I was looking in the clearance aisle.. (my fav aisle) and she was looking at some things on the bottom shelf. ... a few minutes later I heard her say.. Gramma.. do you need some lotion?? I wasn't thinking about what she actually asked.. so I said hmmm no Zoey we have plenty at home.. then I sort of looked down and saw her little hand filled with a BIG glob of lotion.. OHHH MY GOSH !! What else to do?? rub it all in.. her and me!!! LOL She was giggling so hard as I was rubbing it on her tummy and arms.. my arms. my face , ugh.. you get the picture.. I got to laughing as well.. I told her why did you do that?? She said.. it smells good!!! So needless to say we left there smelling very good!!.. Doug asked me if I bought the bottle.. I just blinked and said....no.
I guess I should of huh??? I was just ready to get out of that store.. lol

Monday....with lots of photos!!!

I have no good title for today ....and I've been a bad blogger.. last posted was a month ago..
Just been crazy busy .....

I have had quite a few custom orders for Kindle/ Nook covers.. and with all happy customers!!
I will be making iPad covers soon, because I finally broke down and ordered me , myself and I my own little iPad! yay!!! With some coaching from my friend Sasha and alot of deciding I thought oh heck go for it.. then she twisted my arm.. not that much ... to get the keyboard for it. so well I have to have the keyboard!!! hehehe

I perfected my wallet pattern I was working on for the last few months.. Its a easy wallet but I had it on the back burner for so long and wanted to get it done..I'm hoping to put some of these on my Etsy soon.. Christmas coming and people need to buy some cute crafty gifts!!! = )

I made this one using some leftover fabric I used for a custom Kindle cover... I like geen too =)
I'm thinking of using snaps on some...
If you can see here I put three stitched lines down the center to make it fold better and not bunch up inside with all your cards and monies (a Zoey word) in it..
I need to move the top card slot down a bit .. I tried putting a clear front I.D. pocket on the front but it didn't work out..
Ok as you know I like planners, calendars and all things paper.. I contacted my friend Katrianna over on
prettychaotic.com . She has the cutest planner ! I asked if she could do a custom size for me.. She worked with me and came up with these pages... I LOVE IT.. I like the smaller pages so I can throw it in my bag if need to but big enough to write all my busy days down in.. Lots of cutting, printing and punching the holes.. I can not find a small 6 hole puncher for it yet.. so each hole was with a single puncher.. sigh.. yes..I know...
This is a older dayrunner planner binder I had been using with just plain paper in it.. writing each week and month out.. I think I have just as much time invested in this one too lol but its all worth it.. I like the weekly pages to the left. and have the To Do page on the right.. you have to have lists.... right???
I like to keep track of my books I read and and want to read so today I printed out this page real fast.. I found it Here from PaperLoveStory .. I think the lines are bit small and its actually for a Filofax size planner.

 My monthly views..

Ok for some fun....

Last weekend we went to a Pow Wow at our local Shakamak State park. It was fun. We took Zoey and she had a blast.. she is SO curious and is in the lots of questions age.. especially the WHY WHY WHY?? after each answer.. One family had stayed in their tee pee and the family invited Zoey inside.. She is petting the furs here lol .

She loves this little girls outfit.. kept touching it and admiring it.. I think I will have to make her one now!
I asked the little girl to take her picture with Zoey. We got to watch her do her "fire" dance later in the show.. (without fire)
Here is Zoey and Papaw eating some yummy fries and fry bread..
She is so photogenic.. but its hard to get her to stay in one place , I had to do this one super fast! and turned out awesome! Doug took a picture of me and Zoey together and I accidently deleted it!!!!! I don't have many of us together either = (
I can't remember what this man was called.. maybe the medicine doctor? We was told he came all the way down from Canada.. The music was nice as well..

Ready for more pictures?? hehehehe

I almost forgot about my messenger bag pattern I tested for Jane on projectsbyjane . I love her patterns! VERY VERY detailed instructions. This pattern with many others are available on her Etsy shop.
I made this one using the fabric thinking of a one person and sent it to her and she loves it..
Yes, I know I should of used darker Velcro..

Ok I think I am caught up.. I am getting back to my sewing bug lately and with Christmas around the corner I really need to get busy!!! Especially with all the fabric I have stock piled I can't wait to use it. You can admire it for so long ....

Seriously???

A whole month I haven't posted??? Whaaaa???
I have missed it though! And I got some goodies to show you!

Lets see.......hmmm some of you have seen some of this on  my facebook, but I'll post them anyways.. I can't remember anything I've done lately lol

I made a jumper and a princess robe for my friends little girl. She turned 3 and she's a princess of course.. so I had to make the robe just for her = ) She loves it! and wears it to bed (as hot as it has been!)  and had wore it to town once lol

I been making some custom E reader covers and been having some very satisfied customers !!! =)

This red one was a weird size for a Sony reader and I thought the cut out of the card board I used for sizing looked tight.. but the device fit perfectly!!! yay!
I designed a wallet.. again.. I made one similar awhile back and got mad at it and threw it in my corner , I think its still there! hehe
But this one I made this morning and I loved the colors I used and thought I had it figured out! It a easy pattern and not sure what I was doing wrong!
cute huh???
It has 6 card slots and a receipt/cash pocket.. I like simple.. I wanted a clear window for my license and I.D.

I put all my goodies inside and closed it and it was TIGHT! omgosh what?
I wasn't happy with it.. what I did wrong the bias trim on the clear pocket is too thick.. and I used heavier fabric for the exterior and interfaced it ......blah!

So.. back to the drawing board..oh, after a power outage of about a hour !!!
I made it a tad longer and used quilter cottons and interfaced with thinner stuff.
TADA!!
I'm soo happy with this one! All my cards slots are roomy ,
My receipt pocket will hold lots of receipts..
and it closes great!!! I stitched up 3 lines instead of one middle one.. it closes better! gives it a book like feel .

I believe I want to make some of these up to sell..My mom and I are going to try to get a yard sale going soon and I'll try to sell some of my crafty things.

I'm making this tote bag but ran out of the fabric I used..this is what I've finished so far.
I made a littler bag of the same patter and it was like way too small and love the pockets on this bag!
See my welted pocket!!! I'm proud of that baby!

Theres a large deep pocket on the back and the dived pocket on the front.
I have to get fabric for the straps.. I used this pattern from HERE . I think I bought it from Joann's ,I can't remember for sure...
I'll be craft supply shopping tomorrow!! Got to get fabric for a new messenger bag I'm helping to test by Jane at http://projectsbyjane.blogspot.com/ .!!! She is very detailed with her patterns and I love them. You need to go over and check out her free tutorials as well as her Etsy shop!!!

A storm is coming so need to get off her and I think my sewing bug is back..There has been alot going on with me and I just told myself to get with it SUE!!! snap out of it! .....slap slap.. I got many things to catch up on!!! Seeya!

Thank God I'm a Country Girl!!

I'm running out of post titles....

This weather really bit me bad. I am outside a lot and not did a whole lot of sewing. Which I probably needed the break anyway!
Me and Zoey are usually playing in the sand or taking Baby for walks around the pond or going to a poultry farm to watch all the geese, ducks and roosters.. She is fascinated with roosters. She was crowing like one before she could walk. I'm so glad she is a county girl like her Mamaw!!
At the farm the big geese were honking up a storm, and following us along the fence. .Zoey finally said "YOU ARE TOO LOUD!!" lol She loved the big turkey. It gobbled up a storm at her. I told her he liked her and she wanted to pet it.. I said no he on guard and can't be disturbed. She helped feed the fish too, she even ended up calling my friend Granny LOL

We had a wienie roast down at the pond one day while she was here. She kept eating the relish out of the jar. Then she found a water bottle Doug had laying around and started squirting the fire and making it hiss. She always has to be doing something...
She loves walking in the "jungle" as she calls it and we find frogs and turtles and all sorts of critters.

We got our baby ducks!!! We ended up trading our pesky chicken for them. One crazy chicken for 4 ducks is a great bargain. plus they are funner! Zoey seems to think so!
As of today they are 5 days old. I put them in the smaller fish pond we have in our back yard first time yesterday and they went CRAZY! One of them is a dare devil and dives all the way down to the bottom and comes back up. Its fun to watch them play. I grew up with ducks and  gathering the eggs was usually my chore. They are soo good to eat!!

Yesterday me and Doug sat back by the bigger pond and it was so peaceful and the wind was blowing. I probably would of fell asleep if it wasn't for those pesky horsefly's swarming us. They hurt when they bite. But I'm so glad to live where we do. We have lived in bigger city's and its just not for me.. but at the time we didn't have a choice.. like the saying.. our home was where the Air Force sent us.

Here is what I have been making though! I made my own wallet pattern. I mean it wasn't hard at all. And there are a ka-zillion wallet patterns and tutorials out in crafty blog land but I wanted to make one for from me!!! = ) Actually this is my second pattern. The other one is a checkbook wallet I sell in my Etsy shop. I might make a tutorial out for it someday.
My plans were to post the free tutorial today.. but I need to wait for a few more weeks.. as I have something planned for this tutorial in a few weeks, I will keep you posted!

Here are a couple I made so far..This is the first one I made. It was taken apart a couple of times and I used Velcro on this for the closure. My thread bunched up in a couple of spots, I'm using this one now. I have to try it out before I send it out to the public!!!

Plenty of room for cards in your pockets and a cash pocket behind it.

Then the second one I made I thought it could go to the Etsy stop.. Well I had to scratch that off..
I used a bigger seam allowance on the top of the card pockets and if I would of sewn around the outside edges to finish it off, the cards wouldn't fit.. GRRRR
So its in my grab bag I keep for presents or if one of my nieces needs something...
But this little lovely is my final outcome..

She is made perfect! Well I think so lol
I used the new fabric I received!! Apple of my Eye. I LOVE APPLES..and these are just so yummy.
You can purchase it from Julie in her shop at The Intrepid Thread. If she has any left! I bought a half yard bundle of the whole set.. hehe

(I hadn't put my snap on it yet.. I decide the snaps looked better then Velcro.)

Here is my new yummy fabric Apple of My Eye.
I took it over to my mom's yesterday and told her pick out any thing she wanted.. ( So there is 4 missing) She picked out 4 half yard pieces. I told her to make something for herself with it. She is always making things for everyone else.
I'm not one to buy alot of fabric and figure out what I make with it later on.. I'm more like ok I need this for this project now and buy it when I need it.... well I think I'm changing my ways..I already have my eyes set for Dress Up Days!!!

I do have one more thing to show off..but that will be next week.
I made a new planner cover for a simple little composition note book. I didn't interface it or nothing but I'm going to make another one soon and pad it with fusible fleece. So more Apple of My Eye will be in use! = )

Here's a little eye spy pic for you.. I lost my seam ripper......again....... can you find it for me???
lol
* actually I'm showing off my new cutting mat I bought with some of my gift money from mother's day.
Have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!
