Momma's wallet and Food on the Table.

I had a custom order to do and got right on it yesterday when I woke up. It was for my momma so of course I had to get it finished for her! =)
So, Mom if I don't get this to you by tomorrow here it is! lol
I made one of these wallets for her last Christmas but she asked me to tweak it a bit so I did.

I used the Woodlands fabric ,, so cute! She wanted dark fabric so it wouldn't show the dirt.. Mom, you're not suppose to get it dirty!!!
The last one I made for her was made for coupons and a little notebook tucked inside. You wouldn't believe what all she has fit in it... But her checkbook stuck out at the top and so I made this one a bit longer.
I had a busy Sunday. Started my spring cleaning early. My back is screaming now. But today I'm resting (sewing). Sewing does relax me, until I have to get the seam ripper out and then well...its all down hill. I just remembered something.. when cleaning yesterday I put stuff in the sewing room to get it out of the way to go through it later.. oh geez. I guess today is the later part..

I got 2 huge bags of books and a lawn sized yard bag full of clothes to donate. I kept looking at them and thinking.. hmm I could probably re-purpose these. But talked myself out of it...........but kept a few t shirts hehe. Doug took a box of them to the garage to cut up for rags. I went through my closet and just pulled things off the hangers and didn't try to look at them. When you second guess at something you're in trouble.

We "sprung" forward Sunday with the clocks.. I'm still in the mode of oh its really 7 am and not 8 so I can sleep for a little bit longer.. when I have a early appointment then I will get on track..I hope Spring has arrived to stay this time. Last week we had 60's then it snowed the next day. Hate this time of year. I hear the froggies outside singing happily!!

Last thing.. my bank gives me points through out the month when I use my debit/credit card. (who has cash now a days?) I let some expire as I kept forgetting to check on line but I did have around 180 points saved up. For 100 points I ordered this LeapFrog learning device for Zoey. She loves it! It is like her own little laptop. It came with a "stylist" pen and she can draw on the page. It gives your options to do games or work on letters and numbers or shapes. Then it shows dots and she can trace them . Right now she just likes to draw circles. But she will get the hang of it. She barks with it too, because it has a little doggie on there that tells her she did a great job and barks lol
But for FREE this is awesome!

I was asked about my new checkbook wallet from my last post, if I wanted to make a pattern to sell! I put it on my thinking list, because I would like to sell some of the wallets I make first.

One last thing...
I joined Food on the Table with a code for a free life time membership. I have used some of these recipe/menu making sites before just to be bored of them or their recipes had a zillion things you had to buy.. I like fast, easy and simple. (cooking cuts into my sewing time!)
But I really like this site! You put in your grocery stores you shop at the most. Then you tell them what types of food you like to fix. Then you can browse their 1000's of recipes and add them to your menu list for the week. It will let you know what is on sale at yours stores you selected too! After selecting the menu you have the option to print out the grocery list that you need for that week AND the recipes. You can even add your own recipes! Also it lets your change the recipe around for more servings or less. I printed my list up last night. Most the stuff I'll be making I already have on hand. My menu this week is:
Cheddar Beef Enchiladas
Cheesy Hashbrown Casserole
Grilled Chinese BBQ Chicken Thighs
Mexican Lasagna
Potato and Bratwurst Skillet dinner
BBQ pork chops
and then I added spaghetti for tonight because I already had that planned out.
With my son moving back in (temporarily) what I use to fix for me and Doug doesn't cut it now. They both like double helpings and I needed some help!
If you are interested in this ,this is still free(as of today)so you might want to join up now before it expires ..

There's a link on this page and it will fill in the code for you after you click on it...
Happy day!
I'm linking the wallet above here today!!! on SewhappyGeek linky party!

A little sewing...

I was pretty tired this evening... but after my son took Zoey home to her mommy (she been here since Thursday morning) I needed to get a few things finished up.
I have a couple to finish too, but need supplies and well I thought this was a good time to get the little things outta the way!!

I was asked to make hair scrunchies. I thought well shouldn't be too hard.. I've about tackled everything else.. This is what I came up with...
The girl wanted peace sign's. I have plenty of that fabric.. and through in some different types..
I had a picture of Zoey modeling one but deleted it from my email and not sure if its on my phone still.. she liked wearing it as a bracelet.. while I was sewing these up today she kept running off as soon as I had one made up and then I had to go through the house searching for them..I think at one point she was chasing the dog down with one too...sigh.

Ok I didn't make those tonight..this is what I made tonight..

I tried my hand on free motion style sewing on the machine.. is that what it's called??? And actually made a mug rug with a good finish on binding!! I'm quite proud of myself with this one. I just used some fabric I had laying in my "good pile". I wanted to quilt around the edges of the cup but got lazy and its getting late and wanted it finished!
Maybe some of you have seen this before?? I got it from Sewhappygeek. She has a few tutorials on some mug rugs there. But this one caught my eye and looked cute..
Mother nature has changed her mind again.. it was a whole 18 degrees today .. BRRR Last week it was 50's and I heard frogs and saw a turtle!  I did not go out much today. Fed the critters outside and got the mail and that was it!! I kept my jammies on all day hehehe..

I bought a new bag/purse pattern yesterday.. I tend to stay away from big purses , as in making them and using them.. (when I use them I just can't find nothing in them!) I love the looks of big purses though. But seeing my friend from http://mskrspinkstitches.blogspot.com/  make this purse from http://www.emmalinebags.com/ I had to try it out.. I got the Teardrop bag.. I can't wait to make it!! (Christy from Pink Stitches is on facebook too and you can see more of her bags there!!)
Ok, its time for me to get settled down for the night....hope everyone is having a good weekend!!!
OHHH and a shout out to Sasha for getting her first sales for her BEAUTIFUL project bags !!! She's very talented!!! You can see them HERE!!
good nite.
