ok, on to better things... lol

Not going to be a long post..I promise.. Not been myself last few days.. I want to sew, then I don't, I want to read, then I don't.. ugh. Then the temporary replacement phone I was using broke.. so I looked all over for the phone I did want and none .. out..gone. So found one to order and it wont be here til later next week..grrrrrrrr Along with some personal matters , things were not good this week = /

 Here's what I did manage to do.. 

 Its very hard to keep a 2.5 year old to model without moving arms and legs.. so the pics are fuzzy because of that...(and don't look at my messy areas in the background lol)
The fabric I used in this pillowcase dress was a gift from Jane over at Projectsbyjane. I knew after I saw this fabric it would be a dress for the Zoey-bug. Thank you Jane!

 LOL I LOVE this picture.. She's been toting these old books that use to be mine when I was her age around everywhere. I told her to sit still like a robot.. she did this LOL

I made a hat using a tutorial from  Here . You use a old t shirt.

She does love her clothes I make her. I showed them to her and she grabs them and smiles big.. LOVE that.. and its makes all worth the time into them = )

My week

I finished up a few more things for Zoey.. I’ve been making her summer clothes and our stupid weather is going back to fall like weather with cool days and cold nights.. We had a bad frost last week and it killed some of my new tree’s we had planted couple years ago.. I’m just hoping it will break out with more new leafs..But anyways here is some of what I finished up this past week for the Zoey-bug…

I made a pair of tights this morning and used a old t-shirt of mine, but didn’t’ take a pic of it.. I’m liking how I can make my own patterns out of things I already have!

For shirts I’m just going to buy some white t-shirts and wanting my mom to embroider some things on them using her machine. =)

My next thing I want to do is sew me some summer capri’s!

Me and Zoey has some fun time painting. I bought her some a cheap water colors set and she did really well with not getting it all over the place. I found a way to make our own puffy paint.. using self rising flour and water! Then you put it in the microwave and it puffs up.. she loved it..as you can see she looked very interested here.

Me and Doug took a break and went to the movies to see The Hunger Games. I had read the first book and wanted to wait until I read the rest, but it all worked out because they only did the first book! I thought it was all be combined.. so yay I got time to read them! It was pretty good. I knew what was going to happen but Doug didn’t . I would rather read the books first anyways.

Speaking of books, what I am reading now I’m really liking. I went my local library and they were having a book sale.. (my favorite!) I got these plus 3 paperbacks not shown. For .10 a book I couldn’t go wrong even if I didn’t like the book….Or maybe they were .25 a piece and .10 for the paperbacks???

I’m reading one of them called I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb now. Its shy of 900 pages but no problem! lol I use to read like 2 books a week, but not lately with a lot more going on…I finished one last week called Pure by Julianna Baggott. If you like to read and read The Hunger Games, you will like this book just as much. I have learned the movie rights were bought already for this book and it is going to be a trilogy so you might want to grab it up and get it read!!

More clothes for Zoey!

I'm getting Zoey's summer clothes finished pretty fast! I'm really loving to recycle old Tshirts..this is one of Doug's old shirts.. actually it wasn't old, he just never wore it so it was like new.. I kept the original neck on it and kept it sleeveless. Added pockets for her little things and lace.. I HAD to put something girly on there...  

 I made another dress like her Easter dress but without the ruffle on bottom , I have one dress with a ruffle on my sewing table but didn't get it quite finished.. I used WinkHandMade's pattern and its a very easy and simple pattern to use. It looks like her shop is back from vacation mode now!

 I made two skirts. I love making these.. One piece of fabric. serge the edges , turn up to hem and put elastic in .. badda-bing.

 And two more shorts. I have much more fabric to use too!!!

So far I did 3 dresses, with one in the making... 7 shorts, and 4 skirts.

I got my new Etsy store changed over finally.. It is now officially listed as AppleHead Threads! It was just under my user name before and make a long story short, I made my shop name under applehead threads but  dingdong me forgot ,,,,SOOOOOOOOO I had to transfer each item over pictures and all.. relist and then re add my favorite shops and people. Etsy was good enough to refund the listing fee's though.. *smiles*

I am excited about getting a email from Jane Poh at ProjectsbyJane last week asking me ......ME.... yes me to test a pattern for her.......EEEEEEEEE! of course yes I said! Its just a little pattern for new sewer's but she wanted someone with skill........(yes still talking about me!) to test it out for the usual things, and to make sure newbies can understand it,etc..
I made a couple of her items from her TUTORIALS and purchased a wristlet pattern from her as well. It should be a breeze to test her pattern as her directions are very well written. If you remember this purse, it was made using the free tutorial she has for a recessed zipper.

OK .. I'm signing off.. was a long week.. full of Zoey!! lol I hope everyone has a fun filled and happy week!

Hoppy Easter!

I'm back.
I finally took some pictures of some of Zoey's clothes I made so far. And the pic's aren't that good as I had to use my phone again.. She had her daddy's camera, the one I have been using to take pic's and she wouldn't let me have it back. She kept saying.. nooo its Daddy's! WELL.
I finally found it today on daddy's windowsill .. I believe we are going through a the terrible two's. I did not have problems with her daddy at that age and was hoping she wouldn't go through it either. This last week we had her 5 days in a row and I'm just thinking she was missing her mommy. She not one to cry for her daddy or mommy as far as being homesick. Only when she gets in trouble lol
This is sort of funny but little sad. I heard my son telling her NO really loud. I thought ut oh. Then I heard paddling on the bum. (diaper on isn't considered a bad paddling lol) She comes running in to the front room where I was and (not crying but with a sad face) "Daddy not my friend no more" LOL I hugged her and asked "well what did you do to get in trouble?" Son yelled out.. trying to stick her finger in the fan! Oh. I told Zoey "well he does love you and didn't want you hurt." so I told her to go be friends with daddy again. She ran back to the room and I heard her in a little voice say.."Daddy, I'm sowry." awwwww Sometimes it turns out good.

We had our little Easter together and that turned out great. She wore her pretty dress and took lots of pics and videos and then found out she wan't wearing the pretty hat to match her dress.. well crap.

And here are the clothes I made last couple of weeks, but this first dress I made today. I used a old shirt of Doug's, kept the neckline on the front. added the shabby not so shabby but really shabby roses on the bottom....I can not do shabby and look shabby. they look crappy lol  I used a tute from Here that I found on Pinterest.. ( yes. I went back.) lol hush.

 And I apologize for the shabby crappy photos too... I also chased the sun around today in the house so I wouldn't have to drag out my photo box.. lazy lazy lazy

 I made these magnet letters for her basket. So far I had to put them up twice. She keeps trying to stuff them under the fridge. I thought she would out grow that! I still have to make more vowels so she can spell words out ...( and thank you again Sasha for supplying most the pretty scraps!)

 Three longer style shorts.. Zoey does not like the Garfield ones. I thought it was because they were longer. she likes the other's. But I'm thinking the elastic is tighter.. so have to fix that.

 I made 3 of these knit shorts.. can't find the third pair...probably dirty.

 And of course the skirts!

I've decided to blog just once a week. Write it all down as I want to blog about and get it all done in one evening. I just have to make use of my time and that is one thing I have to do. I've been doing a lot of re organizing things in my life to make it easy for ME! . period... hehe
I got a menu binder with weekly meals I do and been keeping at that..
I re organized my coupon binder and went from a big ass binder down to a small one that you buy in a Dollar Store. yep I still do alot of coupons but I am doing it on a smaller scale. (and it fits in my purse easier)

Last thing, I am in the process of switching my Etsy store over to my Appleheadthreads name. I have been using my store under just my name. I opened it first to buy things and just added the shop to that.. but been thinking I want it easier to search. SOOOOO doing a complete switch over is going to be hectic as I don't want to lose my contacts or people that have favorite'd me and etc. I will let you know the new site landing page as soon as its finished.
