NOT a good evening...

I was trying to get a little bit of my projects started tonight to put in my NEWWWWWWWW store on Facebook! (I'll tell more later in the post)....
But I ran into a problem here.. I HATE to rip things out.. So my little old tired looking seam ripper , which I named him the seam REAPER got a little workout tonight.. why ? I didn't do this once,, I sewn it right back on again the same way...... : / ugh.
So I fixed it (talking to myself and not in a nice way) and turned out the lights.. coffee and computer time was it for the rest of the evening..(caffeine doesn't do a thing for me,so I can drink it all night and still crash in bed)  The night is young, its only 11pm ...

Ok,, firstly.. I have a facebook Applehead Threads page.. there is a box thingy on the left there you can access it!! Actually its my NEW page as I have one thats like a regular page but wanted one that I can put my new store on it from Tabjuice. I had to have the fan page to do it so off I went to open my new page.. and wasn't happy about it as I have to get all my friends on the new page before I can delete the other. Or keep it, dunno yet. Because I still have my OTHER page under my name for friends and family.. I actually have a book I have to keep up with myself now!
So far I have one item listed in the store.. http://www.tabjuice.com/ is new to me, I'm not sure how old it is but seems new as I've not come across anyone with it yet.. If I start something on Facebook I ought to get some extra lovings from this company!! hehe

Anywho... go check it out here my STORE here!!! And go LIKE my page! You can like it from that box thingy also.. I'm so pushy huh??

OK.. secondly..
I'm NOT happy with our postal service.. remember the yarn.. oh I mean hanks of wool ... I sent to my friend Sasha.. she received it today.. but only HALF OF IT! oooooooOOOOOOOooooOOOoo0000000oooooooo I'm upset and sick to my stomach over it!! I put it inside a flat rate envelope. I actually had it inside a bubble package envelope but decided to put in a flat rate as I added more stuff to send her. I usually tape it really good and since I sealed it at the post office instead I didn't. That sticky stuff on the envelope took really well and I even asked the lady what she thought, she said looks good. Thank goodness I put insurance on it! She only received 2 of the hanks and no goodies from me!!
She said it was taped up on one end and looked dirty too. So we are thinking it got ripped up or "opened" in transit and they lost the other items or pocketed them lol.. I have got packages or letters that was ripped up a bit and post office always put a note on it like "damaged in transit" or something like that.. I have sent many packages and this is the first time the post office handled it this way.. I'm fumed!
Sasha (I'm so sorry) called them and they have a search for the items.. I'm going to go ask my office as well tomorrow..
So IF anyone out there found a tiny wallet (I made her)with my business card inside please send me email or comment!! lol PWEEASEEEEEEEEEE!!
This yarn is special to us!!!!!

OK.. thirdly...
I'm tired!! I had a grand daughter stay over last night.. wow.. she is a twister of wind!! She is at my favorite age of a toddler.. jabbers and tries to talk and is starting to put things together very well!! I been working with her colors with her.. so far everything is yellow lol She going to be a country girl ( I hope) as she loves!!! papaw's lawn mower!! She calls it twacker wide!! (tractor ride in Zoey-nese)

Ok.. I've jabbered enough. I usually like to post pictures but typed enough instead...Going to go find something to eat with my coffee!! teehee

Made a new purse!

And its For Sale!!
I haven't listed it on Etsy yet.. I'm still not sure if I want to do that as I get the orders locally pretty well.. if not sold I'll do it = ) And still wondering about a new thing called TabJuice. I thought it was free but its about like Etsy . I've not read up on it much but its a  app  for Facebook..I don't really have time to mess with it right now lol Has anyone heard of it or using it?

Here is the Go Anywhere bag.. I love the colors. Its more for a younger person. But that's the IN thing now a days.. peace signs, skulls, black and more black, and pink!!!
Three deep pockets on one side!!!

ONE big pocket with magnet snap closure here

and the inside has a pretty good size pocket for a notebook and pen. Its made with 100% cotton, and closes with a magnet snap as well. I think I bought all the fabric from Joann's. I used a heavy interfacing and its pretty good and strong but also still light on the shoulders.. One thing I love about this purse it stays put on your shoulder and lays right under your arm pit instead of down to your hips!! If anyone is interested in this shoot me a email. First email first served! lol I'll be making a couple more.. I'm maybe thinking of putting a little tab on the inside and making one of the little coin purses I made a few days ago to hang off it?? hmmmm
Credit for this pattern goes to Anna Graham of http://www.noodle-head.com/ I have used alot of her patterns!

OHHH I have a bloggy friend (Sasha) that loves to buy yarn, I mean LOVES IT! and I asked her if she was interested in freshly made off the sheep wool yarn!!! She said yes of course = ) and went to a neighbor that makes her own yarn.. spins it , dyes it , the whole 9 and more yards!!! hehe So these lovely hanks( I did not know this term til yesterday,I'm not a knitter lol) of yarn is off to her in the mail today!!!

Isn't is pretty! All natural and smells good and country fresh!!! Enjoy Sasha!! Please post what you make from it!!

I was to get this posted way earlier today but my momma had a dizzy spell again :( me and my sister drove over to be with her and she is fine now.. she is staying with sis tonight = )
There's not much to do so the doctor tells her, but to lay down and relax til it passes.. there is more details but I won't go into it all.. she will be back to her momma self by tomorrow!!

Recipes!!!

Well.. not the eating sorts,  but you will get the picture...and if you get bored of the babbling ...skip on down to the sewing parts!

I try to save as much money as I can , I use TONS of coupons and try to shop local (season permitting) .And I'm trying to be more planet earth friendly and took up recycling in the last couple of years.. Sometimes its a hassle but I keep thinking of all that garbage that goes into our earth and think eww. And not to mention the animals it affects in the oceans! I try to buy things that don't have alot of bad icky chemicals but some things listed here is more on the frugal side then being green.. I'm not a expert in this stuff but I use what is best for moi. = )

A list of things I do for the better of the environment..and me.

  1. I take reusable bags to shop.. I have bought them yes, but now I make them as you all should know by now!! lol
  2. I recycle as much as I can. I even throw my food garbage outside for the critters,, that I am not happy about this year eating my best tomatoes!! But I had more then enough tomatoes this year,, so all is ok I guess..
  3. I have made my own re usable clothe napkins.. I used tutorial from HERE for Unpaper Towels as she calls them.. I love them too, but need to make more.. and Doug said to make them man friendly as BIGGER for his bigger mouth   hands. She has alot of other great things you need to look at. Snack bags, produce bags..etc.. I love her blog. Actually she was almost the first blog I started following if I remember right...almost but not lol.
  4. LAUNDRY SOAP!!! this is my favorite part!! I love making my own laundry soap!! It makes the whole house smell so good and fresh! I was making the gelled type where you have to boil water and la la la and put it in a big 5 gallon bucket.. The other night I ran out and was lazy to wait for it to set over night to use.. so I went searching on Pinterest.. my favorite place now!! I found a recipe for the dry method.. Easy peasy and still smells good, because you have to grate the bar soap.. (my wrist still hurts! lol ) I went HERE for that.. I made the smaller batch as I wasn't about to grate 4 bars of soap!! Read her whole page about this.. I could tell you all about it but its easier just to go there lol,, did I mention I'm a lazy blogger?
  5. I haven't made this yet but will in the next couple of days!! Home made hair tangler!! HERE is something I really need but not for me.. My grand daughter, Zoey has the wildest hair I have ever saw on a baby! ITS BEAUTIFUL but gets so tangle-ly while wet.. Just use Suave conditioner and water , mix it and as Zoey say's ........DA-TAH!!! I got some coconut scented and can't wait to try that.
  6. Also HERE is a home made fabric softener, I've not tried it yet. and its use's Suave again.. I have bought regular liquid softener and poured into a container with cut up old socks of mine and then shake it or toss it around and use the one or two strips of the socks after soaked in that in the dryer. I've used each piece a few times. So you get a lot of mileage out each piece.
  7. Hmm what else..
  8. My friend, Sasha gave me a site to check out. http://www.mrsmeyers.com/ This is all natural products for you and your home.(and is not tested on animals!! big plus!)
  9. I shop Goodwill. You can find some vintage bowls and stuff there!!!
  10. and I had to round to 10 for the list!!! hehehe
But all in all I just wanted to share with you some things I use around the house and if you got anything you use to pass on let me know! I'm always looking to try new things.

Sewing part!
I didn't think I would get this finished today but I did and here it is...
Another wallet!  (surprised? lol)

the zipper didn't quite get right.. zippers make me crazy..
It has a magnetic snap closure..
Plenty room for all the business cards and endless supply of credit cards!!! I have a debit/credit card. I hate credit cards!!
I bought this pattern from this  Etsy store.. It's a super easy pattern to follow. I really love it.. so probably will make more! and........I can sell them..yay! It's called the OOO RAH wallet as her son is a Marine and she named it and carries in honor of him..I LOVE THAT! (check her store out and look at her versions..they are great!)This wallet is for sale.. but I think its sold already ,still waiting for answer = )
I need to make me one next! I never make myself anything lol
Ok one last thing .. I made some cute little training pants.. (did I post this before??) deja vu..hmmm
My niece was wanting some training pants for her little girl, and I am making some for my grand daughter as well.. I gave these to Zoey as she saw them and loved them. I made them from a couple of t shirts !!! Oh thats being green again!! lol (add that to my list)
I also managed to get another Go anywhere bag using Noodlehead pattern cut out tonight. If Zoey takes a nap when I have her Monday I'll get that sewn up...hehe.

Ok I can post this now.

I had to wait to post these so my friend would be surprised for his birthday gift! He received it today and loved it very much ,  = )

Since he was a former Marine I made the catch all tray in fabric I knew he would like a lot.

I had some Air Force fabric made Doug one as well. He thinks they are neat. I took a picture with his goodies already in it. Men “things”…. knife, business card to a gun shop, a key to gun some sort of cabinet?? or maybe it’s the lawn mower key.. dunno? And his note pad left over from his military job. It has weird things it in and I don’t ask.. lol I found this tutorial some where a while back and forgot to write the page down and can not find it.. so I’m going to direct you to…. NOODLE HEAD again!! She has a link to Skiptomylou blog for the tutorial..or you can just click that one and it will go there … (Do I make things more difficult then it should be??? )

Photo126Photo138

I got a package from Julie today from The Intrepid Thread Etsy shop. I had to order some FQ’s of the Little Apples line.. sooo cute. My new fabric stash is starting to pile up so I really need to get busy and sew something's to sell..

Photo139

I got a email from something called TabJuice . Its to sell your products off of Facebook and they won’t charge nothing like Etsy . Was wondering if anyone uses that or heard of it? I haven’t read it deep yet but looks like something I would use..FREE for me is good!!!

I had my little Zoey bug today.. We played in the “fort” I made from the recliner.. with a quilt draped over the back of it while it was reclined.. I thought it was nice and comfy and was laying there and said, wow Zoey this is nice, lets nap.. She smacked me on the forehead…So I guess that was a no.. (it was dark in there so its not like it was granny abuse or nothing!)

I’m making a new page for tutorials I have used and hope to get that added here soon!! I like supporting my fellow crafter’s! And they put in a lot of work to put those tutorials out there for us to use.

I have a eyeball ache. maybe its in both eyes.. but its very annoying! I really need to stop staying up late to read!! = ) or it might be all this rainy weather that we needed all summer long!!

I think I pushed Autumn a little early? Its not officially until next month but..who cares, I’ve not been known to go by the rules!!!! Like my new header!!???? I love making these. I got this one from Shabbyblogs , then added my photos using PhotoScape.

Psst….Did you notice my post divider too???

=)

It’s a dog’s world.

Well, at least my dog!

Dog face

I had a little time last night to sew something fast. I didn’t want to get into a big project yet. (waiting for fabric to arrive that I ordered!!) but still wanted to sew..as tired as I was though. I’ve been wanting to make Baby a new shirt or harness so sort of made it all in one..

I found this tutorial from Dog Under My Desk blog. Erin has some pretty cute doggies there she sews for and has a lot of nice tutorials there. My next project for Baby is a dog bed using her tutorial.. Looks comfy!

Here is pictures of Baby in order …it gets funny.Photo129To get her to set up from a nap I told her the mailman was outside..hehehe (he wasn’t) I slipped it on her fast.

Photo131Then she was like..oh man he’s gone. I told her sorry maybe next time…

Photo130I told her one more shot please and she stood like this and her eyes were actually droopy lol I wish she stood this well when I give her insulin shots!! (its still a lot of drama there but she’s taking them better!)

Photo135I told her ok lets go outside and try this thing out. She was still looking for the mailman I think….

Photo132But here is the layout of it. Its all one piece with a flannel lining. I used Halloween print with candy corn. I might make her a hoodie tonight or tomorrow. Using this tutorial Here. I really want a design on it as this one shows so I might have to get my momma to do that for me!!! (ok mom??)

That’s about all I’ve done in the last few days.. Have another thing to show but maybe next couple of days as it’s a birthday gift and have to wait until he gets it!! = ) Because he reads this and I want it to be a surprise!!

Good night.Snail

Made new wallets!!

My daughter in law said she needed a I.D. holder , as she is in college. And she also told me she could sell some easily .. soo.. I couldn't help myself and got busy!!
I used Noodlehead's pattern ..again . What would I do without her??? geez I would cry because she is so awesome in her patterns and I am not!! .. wait.... blowing my nose...ok..

hehehehe I'm a drama queen.eh?

Seriously I can not draft a pattern on paper.. its all good in my head but looks a mess in real time.. but can do a sudoku puzzle in no time flat..weird.

Maybe should of took a pic with out the biz cards inside? lol  And I really need a new camera.
I love these little wallets. I just put a clear pocket on front instead of original pocket, and added the ring on side. Hoping to sell these super fast. What I like about these wallets you don't use very much fabric at all. Scraps if you wanted. But I cut into my newer fabrics for these. I had a box of lanyards I got at a Staples warehouse sale.

I tried cleaning up my blog page.. I was looking at it this morning and thought ewww. So moved things around a bit. (also moved my living room around too)
If you check out the button from SewHappyGeek on the left there I linked the "snakeskin" purse!! She's having a bundle giveaway as well! Go check it out!!

I wanted to post this video for no big reason other then I love these guys!! and the song is so me.. and the video tells you what the soldiers think about the whole time there...God Bless Them All.

Happy day.

New purse finished!

Ok I am on a roll down the hill here ,, I whipped a purse out last night and finished this morning.. Photo098Photo099Photo100Photo101

I bought this pattern from Noodlehead . It’s her latest one. I love all her patterns and made several different ones from her. The instructions are clean and easy to follow.

This fabric is really soft and looks like snakeskin.  A friend of mine (Dana) gives me tonnage (is that a word?) of fabric as she cleans out her craft room. I do love them kinds of friends!! She handed me this fabric and said, I’d like to see what you make out of this.I didn’t believe it would turn out to be a purse, because I was baffled at what to make.. She gave me the idea to use it for this purse she wanted. And ta-da! I totally love it! I might have a enough left to make me one! Its super soft and not heavy on the shoulders. As you can see I didn’t waste time moving right into it..I even had a wallet already made from the lining fabric! Theres so much room and the pockets on the outside are awesome for your keys, sunglasses, phone, etc… I used a magnetic snap for the one deep outside pocket and had to use velcro for the main part as I was out of magnets.. I will have to stock up on them as I know I will make a lot more of these purses..

I was taking Baby for her morning stroll around the field outside today and my cat comes running out of the woods. Luckily without presents for me.. I found a headless something under a tree out front the other day..eww.

I never talk about my other pets, so here is the rest of the furry babies.. This is Katie, Photo103she was just a kitten barely weaned that someone dumped off for the coyotes to find. But she found us first thank goodness. I hear this little mew mew and look across the yard and this little flash of fur running straight to me.. climbed up my leg and clinged on like a sticktight burr. We ended up keeping her and Baby and her have been the best of friends..

And this big wooly bear is Sweety..

Photo108

She is the protector of our garage. I caught her sleeping at post here.. she's deaf and I had to nudge her awake to smile at the camera. She was a drop off as well and has been the best outside dog we have ever had. We have no idea how old she was when she found us, but she was tiny and maybe at least a year old. That was about 1995ish?? So that makes her at least 16 or so years. eeks! And that’s not counting dog years.. She doesn’t walk much. Its sad because she has been so faithful, only thing we do is keep her comfy..as you can see……..

Have a fun filled day!!!

Another order finished.......and I don't forget

I love this wallet.. but…….its driving me crazy!!! It was going along so well then I put the bias trim on the final step and it turns out………YUCK! I took this bias off 5 times!! Tried it many ways, finally I made the trim a bit bigger and put it on OVER the bias already on there. hehe. It turned out ok , I guess.. I’m very picky about the outcome of my projects! If I would receive something I ordered and it looked crappy ,well, I wouldn’t be happy …but I know I’m not the PRO of sewing but it just needs to look pretty…… = )
I’m sure the customer will love it though, I do like the color choices she wanted!
Photo090Photo091Photo092Photo093
I gave one to my mom awhile back but she gave it back and gave me a idea to leave the middle card slots out and make it a tad long to fit a checkbook in. I told her, kids now a days does not know what a check book is.. lol that’s why its this size! I think I’ll make one to fit a checkbook in and see how it goes.AND with out the trim!! I’ll do it the old way and turn it..
Ok its all set to deliver !!!
Photo094Photo095

I wrapped it in tissue and then used some scraps left over to tie it off.. When I can hand deliver my items I love to make the package.. I cut the paper to size and sew it on the sides then punch holes in the top and add twine to tie it up.. so cute?? I sometimes stamp all over it too… Last Christmas I put a lot of my presents in these, different sizes.. but sewn them all away around.. I think it might be archived in the December on the side there..
I think I’m going to take down my Etsy store.. I was so happy to get this but trying to type all that info out for each item is a pain, I am waiting for it to come up due again in November then I’ll take the items off. So look for a sale coming up for those! I get more orders from  around me to be happy anyways.. and busy!!! Etsy is SOOO huge with all sorts of items too. I shop there and love all the choices.

I started a purse today using a soft leathery snake skin looking fabric.. I LOVE IT! At first I was ....hmmm dunno about this one.. Its a order so I'm hoping I don't like it enough to keep for myself..hehe. Don't worry Dana, its all yours!!

Ok hope everyone is having a nice weekend.. Tomorrow is 9-11 ten years remembered...
I think of that day alot and just not on the yearly day it happened.. God bless everyone that died that day and their families.....and yes I said GOD as I'm American and proud of what I believe in!! = )  Two things I don't like to talk much about on the blog or Facebook, etc is religion and politics. not that I couldn't fill your ears with them both..
I found this poem a few days ago wanting to post a little saying about that day and this bought me to tears.. I think of my daddy when I read this.. he served in WWII and lived to tell me stories.. he didn't go into detail , as I was young, but told me of his adventures and people he met.. but I wish he stayed with me alittle bit longer in life to tell me more.(and to just be here)  I miss him after 25years and think of him alot. When I was younger I wanted to join the military just like my daddy..I think it was a childhood daddy hero thing but I didn't join, my husband did. He served from 1984 to 2009. Seven years of that was Air Force, the other was Air National Guards, where he retired from. If you want military history he's the one to talk to! Ok here is the poem..

Here is the poem taken directly from  www.celebrate-american-holidays.com

The following 9-11 poem was written by Paul Spreadbury on September 14, 2001. Some have criticized Mr. Spreadbury for content, grammar or style. Yet the simple words were an attempt to explain to his young child what happened to those who lost their lives.
Two Thousand One, Nine Eleven~ Paul Spreadbury, York Beach, ME, beesboy@earthlink.net
Two thousand one, nine eleven
Five thousand plus arrive in heaven.
As they pass through the gate,
Thousands more appear in wait
A tall bearded man with stovepipe hat
Steps forward saying, “Lets sit, lets chat.
They settle down in seats of clouds
A man named Martin shouts out proud
“I have a dream!” and once he did
The Newcomer says, “Your dream still lives.”
Groups of soldiers in blue and gray
Others in khaki, and green then say
“We’re from Bull Run, Yorktown, the Maine”
The Newcomer says, “You died not in vain.”
From a man on sticks one could hear
“The only thing we have to fear.”
The Newcomer said, “We know the rest,
trust us sir, we’ve passed that test.”
“Courage doesn’t hide in caves
You can’t bury freedom, in a grave,”
The Newcomers had heard this voice before
A distinct Yankees twang from Hyannisport shores
A silence fell within the mist
Somehow the Newcomer knew that this
Meant time had come for her to say
What was in the hearts of the five thousand plus that day
Back on Earth, we wrote reports,
Watched our children play in sports
Worked our gardens, sang our songs
Went to church and clipped coupons
We smiled, we laughed, we cried,
we fought Unlike you, great we’re not”
The tall man in the stovepipe hat Stood and said,
“Don’t talk like that!
Look at your country,
look and see You died for freedom, just like me”
Then, before them all appeared a scene
Of rubbled streets and twisted beams
Death, destruction, smoke and dust And people working just ‘cause they must
Hauling ash, lifting stones,
Knee deep in hell, but not alone
“Look! Blackman, Whiteman, Brownman, Yellowman
Side by side helping their fellow man!”
So said Martin, as he watched the scene
“Even from nightmares, can be born a dream.”
Down below three firemen raised
The colors high into ashen haze
The soldiers above had seen it before
On Iwo Jima back in ‘44
The man on sticks studied everything closely
Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly
“I see pain, I see tears,
I see sorrow - but I don’t see fear.”
“You left behind husbands and wives
Daughters and sons and so many lives
are suffering now because of this wrong
But look very closely. You’re not really gone.
All of those people, even those who’ve never met you
All of their lives, they’ll never forget you
Don’t you see what has happened? Don’t you see what you’ve done? You’ve brought them together, together as one.”
With that the man in the stovepipe hat said “Take my hand,”
and from there he led three thousand plus heroes,
Newcomers to heaven
On this day, two thousand one, nine eleven.

TA-DA!!

Did ya miss me?? lol

Well..ok then..

I’ve missed being here, and I got a couple of orders finished up..

OH before I start plastering pictures up, I hope everyone is receiving their bags I sent out.. And of course to a couple of the other long distance peeps out there it won’t be long! I promise! We had a holiday today and that will delay our postal services as well…

I got two long handled purses finished and I really like how they turned out!!! You probably recognize this Steeler’s fabric huh??? (This lady totally loves her football!) and its reversible, so both pictures are the same purse…

Photo069Photo070

Also she wanted two kid sized “do-rags” Aren’t they cute??? I stamped there names on the front’s ,so they don’t fight who’s is who’s ,,you know how kid’s can be!!

Photo068

And this is for my son’s girlfriend’s friend, …cousin, boyfriend’s..mom… lol just kidding.... I still need to make her a matching wallet for it.. I lined this with heavier interfacing.. actually a batting . it was very VERY hard to turn it right side out! You have to turn it through one of the handles!

Photo076Photo078

I made it a bit longer then the pattern said, and added a cell phone pocket inside the handle.. (second pic)

You know I can’t keep myself from posting Baby!! hehe!

I got out some of her clothes.. yes I dress her.. but not girly stuff, I’m not a ruffled foo foo type of girl myself so I won’t put her in them either.. But anyways, I got some shirts out that …shrank! and well since she lost some of her weight she can wear them now.. not that she cares, but she does wear them with no complaints.. the shirt says “Ruff Rocker”  I think she thinks we officially abuse her now and wants to call CPS (canine protection services) , all in just today she got two shots..a ear cleaning with drops, and dressed.. that’s serious.. lol

And she’s not sulking in this pic..is she???

Hello...

I miss sewing.. = (
Everyday I wake up and say.. ok I have to do get this accomplished today....nope. I rearranged my craft room maybe it would help..nope.I went on Pinterest.. well that sort of helped, I found some awesome things to add to my bucket list to make..I have been busy but have had time to sew but its like..nawww.. I ordered some new fabric.. that got me smiling!! I like to order here at Julies shop... The Intrepid Thread shop. Wish I could get more but I limit myself but my new fabric stash is building so I must get back to sewing soon or nothing will get done! And plus Christmas gifts....yikes..

To the peeps that won the giveaway I have sent them finally!! So sorry, I like sending everything at once and I was having problems with my stamps.com program and well I had to end up taking them to the real post office ,, twice. But be on the look out for a goodie in your mailbox...

Had to take my momma to the hospital few days ago, all is good but just wanted to be sure.. She had a broken blood vessel on the back of her leg and it bruised something terrible and had a knot in it.. Doctor said its ok though =)
No pictures to post.. I'm even lazy on that part! lol

Have a good day!
